Using Front-End Estimation of Sums
When finding the sum of several numbers, one
way to estimate the sum is called "front-end'
estimation.
(1) First add the 'front-end' digits ( the numbers prior to
the decimal point).
(2) Round off & estimate the sum of any decimal values.
(3) Combine both sums.
Example: Add 4.41 + 1.69 + 5.79 =
