Finding the Area of Rhombus

A rhombus is a parallelogram with four congruent
( equal in length )  sides. The plural of rhombus is
rhombi or rhombuses

Formula number 2:

Rhombus and parallelogram use the same area formula. The
formula is A = bh

b is the length of a base.
h is the height.

Example: Find the area of the rhombus in the picture above with a height  
4cm.

Area = 8cm • 4 = 32 cm



The rhombus is often called a diamond, after the diamonds suit in a pack
of playing cards.
