Finding the Volume of a Pyramid

The Volume of a Pyramid is one third the area of the
base times the height.

The Volume of a Pyramid
1/3 × [Base Area] × Height

Example: Find the volume of the square pyramid

volume of a pyramid

Formula is 1/3 area of the base time height.

step1: Find area of the base.  area = length x width
The area is 3cm * 3cm = 6 cm ( the area)

Step2: multiply 1/3 by 6 cm  = 3

Step3: Find the height. The height is 5 cm

Step4: multiply 3 cm x 5 c m = 15 cm

volume is 15 or v = 15

Note: They are call Square Pyramids, because their base is a
Square.
