Additive Inverse (AD•di•tive IN•verse)
Definition: a number and its additive inverse have a sum of zero
(0) property
A number that when added to a given number results in a sum of zero
Example: In the equation 3 + -3 = 0, 3 and -3 are
additive inverses of each other because when
you add them their sum is zero.
The additive inverse of a number is also called its
opposite.  For example, 4 + -4 = 0.  The additive inverse of
4 is –4, and the additive inverse of –4 is 4
