Additive Property or Addition Property of Equality

Additive Property (ad•DI•tion PROP•er•ty)

Definition: state that  you can add the same
number to each side of an equation, and the expression remain the same.

 

Example:

6= 6
6 + 2 = 6+ 2
7 = 7

 

If you add the same
number to both sides of an equation, the sides remain the
same.
